At first glance, it looks like one of those stories read in novels that ends with a "happy ending", despite all the problems or doubts about the love between the partners. This time, we are talking about a true story starring two not ordinary people, but two individuals with important statuses.

The first lady of France, Brigitte Macron has made a rare confession about her love story with the French president in an interview with Paris Match magazine.

The couple first started dating when she was 40 and he was 15. She was his drama teacher.

To formalize the love story with her student, Brigitte waited 10 years and had a motive behind this decision. The fear that she could destroy the lives of her children, who were almost the same age as her lover, was one of the reasons that prevented her from going to the altar with the man of her heart.

"The only obstacle was my children," she said. "I took time not to destroy their lives. This took 10 years, the time it took to get things back on track. Can you imagine what they would hear about their mom? But I didn't want to lose my life."

The "romance" started between them caused a scandal at the time in the country where they lived. Therefore, Emmanuel Macron's parents, when they found out about their son's love story with the teacher, sent him to Paris to attend another school, but his desire to be with Brigitte and keep this relationship alive were bigger than anything.

Brigitte felt the fear after Emmanuel left, that he might fall in love with a girl of his age in Paris, but this did not happen. She resigned from her job, but the only thing that stopped her from joining Macron was the fear that it would destroy her children.

"It took me 10 years. But I didn't want to miss the chance to live happily," she said.

Brigitte's son is three years older than Macron and her daughters, 46 and 39 today, are not much different from her second husband. Brigitte said she did not know what her parents would think of her marrying the former student, but revealed that her siblings sometimes teased her about rumors about her relationship with Macron.

Brigitte and Emmanuel married in 2007, following Brigitte's divorce from her husband Andre-Louis Ozier.

The First Lady of France has spoken about her daily life with her husband, something she usually avoids in her interviews.

"Sure, we have breakfast together, me and my wrinkles, him with his youth, but that's how it is," she told Elle years ago. "If I didn't make that choice, I would have lost my life. I had a lot of love for my children, but I felt that I had to live this love as well, to be completely happy."
