It is spring! Sunny times, blooming flowers and strange dreams seen every night! Martin Seeley, sleep expert and CEO of MattressNextDay says this is a common phenomenon that occurs around this time of year.
"One study found that we experience the most disrupted sleep in the spring season. This is because we wake up earlier and go to bed later, and as a result, sleep time is shorter,” says Seeley.
The same study also revealed the fact that during the spring, our sleep time is reduced by 25 minutes. “This can be attributed to the production of melatonin, a hormone that helps you sleep and is regulated by light and dark. When there is more light (like in spring and summer), you don't produce as much melatonin. Whereas, when there is less light, you produce more," adds the expert.
The company MattressNextDay analyzed 279,750 Google searches related to dreams and according to the results, the most common dreams that occur in spring, according to Google searches, are the top 10:
#1 Dream about teeth falling out
#2 Dreams related to pregnancy
#3 Spider in a dream
#4 See yourself falling from heights
#5 Hair loss
#6 Fire in a dream
#7 Betrayal between partners
#8 Dream like you're drowning
