Let's face it, gold jewelry is beautiful and has not only spiritual value for some people, but also material value why not. Hardly anything else dulls the shine of a gold accessory, be it a ring, pendant, bracelet, etc.

But, from use or storage for a long time in drawers, jewelry can lose that typical shine, including gold ones. So, as with any other product, there are ways to clean and preserve them through some tricks that professionals use.

Francesca Kelly is the founder of a jewelry firm, where every accessory is handcrafted by artisans. It seems that she is an expert not only in finalizing special jewelry, but also in the part of caring for it.

How to clean gold jewelry

The expert says that the procedure is very simple and no special materials are required, except for a soft microfiber cloth. The most important thing is to keep chemicals out of the case where you are cleaning the accessories and avoid scrubbing with force so that the cloth does not scratch their surface.

Here are three simple steps:

-Fill a bowl with water. Warm water is best and that's all you need. But if you want more effect a little baking soda or a little liquid dish soap are acceptable.

-Immerse gold jewelry in water. Leave it there for a few minutes, but if you have accessories with split ends use a cotton swab and you're good to go.

-Remove the jewelry from the water and dry it with a microfiber cloth and ready for more shine.

How often should gold jewelry be cleaned?

According to the expert, there is no written rule for this because it depends on how often you put them, the quality of the material, etc. But if you see that their luster is starting to fade, then this is the time to clean them according to the instructions above.
